Symbrenthia lilaea

Open winged it is Deep chocolate brown and orange striped butterfly. mainly found on Lantana flowers or puddling in sand in small Himalayan streams. I found it in large numbers at Kenchi mor on Shalaghat-Arki road, Gummu- Shaktighat road in village bhavguri and village Gadyar on Bhojnagar Chakkimor road. It resembles common Lascar. Open winged the Lascar is narrower with slight orange strip on edges. Closed winged the Jester has a marbled look whereas the Lascar has more formed stripes. The Himalayan Yellow Jester is slightly bigger in size and has very visible middle yellow strip/band. It is also found on a higher altitude than the common Jester.
